Jet.com & Walmart.com
Led merchandising and competitive analysis across the home kitchen category, establishing a best-in-class shopping experience on Jet.com, while providing strategic insights to support Walmart's digital transformation.
COMPANY
Jet.com was founded in 2014 as a wholesale marketplace tailored to high-income urban millennial shoppers. In the age of Amazon acceleration, Jet offered an innovative alternative, complete with dynamic pricing models designed to save shoppers money, as well as exclusive merchandise through brand partnerships and private-label categories. in 2016 the retailer was acquired by Walmart — beginning a rapid digital transformation of Walmart’s legacy platform.
ENGAGEMENT
In 2017 I engaged with the team to manage day-to-day merchandising of Jet's home kitchen category, inclusive of collection feed management and PDP optimization — driving a best-in-class shopping experience.
Simultaneously, I worked with the team on longer-term strategic initiatives to align with the greater digital transformation of Walmart’s legacy business. Competitive analysis of key players in the home category revealed opportunities for expansion in product assortment, as well as site content, merchandising, pricing and website taxonomy.
IMPACT
Today Walmart's digital merchandising speaks to how customers shop — through curated visuals of home interiors designed to help shoppers envision pieces in their space, from kitchen appliances to table decor. Additionally, expanded assortments across top brands like KtichenAid and exclusive brands like Pioneer Woman keep Walmart competitive in the greater landscape of home shopping.
